Challenge of Results
Coastline Endurance Running is committed to promoting fairness and inclusivity. We expect all participants and stakeholders to act with honesty, compassion, and respect. Hateful or discriminatory behavior will not be tolerated at our events.
Grounds for Challenges: Challenges to race results related to a runner’s self-declared gender may only be made when a top 3 age group category position is at stake.
Submitting a Challenge: Challenges must be submitted in writing or via email to the Race Director within 72 hours of race completion. Submissions must remain private and handled with the utmost discretion and respect for all involved. Both parties are required to refrain from publicly posting or discussing the challenge until a decision has been finalized by the Race Director.
Review Process: The Race Director and Medical Director(s), will review all relevant facts to determine the outcome. If deemed necessary, we may request supporting documentation from a medical professional. Transgender participants may also choose to provide medical documentation proactively before the race. All medical information will be kept strictly confidential.
Outcomes: If a runner is found to be non-compliant with this policy, they will forfeit any podium or place positions but will retain their official finish time.
Any announcements regarding the decision will only state whether the runner was in compliance with the policy and any resulting action. Medical details will not be disclosed unless explicitly requested or permitted by the runner.
This policy is designed to maintain fairness while respecting the privacy and dignity of all participants. As this is an evolving area in sports, we plan to review and update this policy as necessary. We appreciate your understanding as we work toward greater inclusivity in our events.
